Question about Orchids?

I have had two orchids, with both of them the flowers have now fallen off. Does anyone know what you do with them when the flowers fall off? When do they flower again? Can you get them to flower again? I know the plants aren't dead as the leaves at the bottom are still alive but the don't look pretty at the mo, i'm wondering whether to bin them or keep them. Thanks for any advice.
